The assets of the Ornamo foundation consist of funds obtained through donations and bequests. The basic principle underlying the management of assets gained through donations and bequests involves retaining their market value, unless otherwise ordered by the donor.
The foundation has the right to receive donations. On the basis of donation- and bequest-based donor funds, grants are awarded in accordance with the rules of the funds in question.
The donations or testamentary funds of private persons can be formed into such donor funds.
The Ornamo foundation cooperates with other organisations and foundations. The aim of the grants awarded in 2018 is to support and highlight the contribution of artists and designers in building a responsible society, as regards the economy, the environment and human rights.
