APPLICATION

How to apply for the grant?

Ornamo Foundation grants are applied for using an electronic application form beginning 8th June 2026 until the last possible day, 1st August 2026, to send the application. Note that the form is in Finnish but you are welcome to fill it in English if that is more convenient.

Grant application form

Make only one application. You cannot apply for a grant for a project that has already been completed.

In the application form please fill out the project plan, results, cost estimate, other funding, own professional activity and schedule. You may include attachments, but filling out the form properly is the most important thing to do.

Please note that the form is in Finnish, but you are welcome to fill it out in English if that is more convenient for you.

Should you have any questions, please pay attention to, that questions regarding applying grants should be emailed latest mid-week 26 to apurahat@ornamo.fi so that you’ll receive the answer by the end of that week. This is due to the summer holidays.

What can you apply for a grant for?

You can apply for a grant for your own project or for a work group project. The recipient of the grant must be a member of Ornamo.

Grants are intended for creative work during the project OR for project expenses. Prepare a cost estimate on the form and allocate at least the amount corresponding to the grant to either *Work OR *Supplies/Purchased services/Travel expenses/Other. It is advisable to include the entire cost estimate in the application so that the size of the project is understood.

You do not need to separately specify the amount of the grant applied for, but the grant is 5,000 euros, so you can take it into account in your estimate.

The Ornamo Foundation reports the grants awarded to the tax authorities. Please note that the grant is not automatically tax-free, but depends on your total taxation, so check with the tax authorities.

Special funds for TEXO and SIO members

If you are a member of Textile Artists TEXO or Interior Architects SIO, please indicate this in the Memberships section* so that your application will be processed for the Eeva and Maija Taimi special fund. All grant applications will also be processed by the Ornamo Foundation's grants committee. So do not submit two separate applications.

Confidentiality

All applications are treated confidentially. The Kaj Franck and Kaarina Aho grants are decided by the Ornamo Foundation Grants Committee. The Eeva and Maija Taimi Fund grant is decided by the Textile Artists TEXO and Interior Architects SIO boards.

When will applicants be notified of the grant decisions?

Applicants will be notified of the grants in October.

Report on the use of the grant

A free-form report on the use of the grant must be submitted one year after receiving the grant to the following address: saatio@ornamo.fi
